Red Panda

This is mostly in response to a post over at http://cuteoverload.com/ (actual post here) but I figure it’s easier to post this here and use a trackback than fill up their comments (especially with too many URLs which a lot of anti-SPAM progs will block) so here we are.

The animal is a red panda, they are extraordinarily popular here (Japan) at the moment after tons of video being shown of them on TV standing on their hind legs. Here for info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Panda and here for more videos (of the pandas themselves).
The girl’s is Becky and she is a half-Japanese, half-British television star in Japan. See here for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Becky

This clip is from Tensai! Shimura dōbutsu-en which is a TV show here in Japan hosted by Shimura Ken, who is a Japanese comedian formerly of the Drifters comedy group. The show has several regular segments including this one where one of the cast members (often Becky) live with a rare or unusual (as pets anyway) animal for a few days.
See here for more clips from the show.

Cool clip! I don’t get into Japanese TV shows too much (not my kind of thing) but I definitely have heard of Becky before. Anyway, those red pandas were indeed cute…. thanks for sharing!

I haven’t had the time to watch much TV for the past few weeks, but I do try enjoy it occasionally.

The pandas are cute. They have/had one here in one of the zoos (Ueno I think) and there were lines for hours to go see them.
