Clerks 2

I don’t think this looks very good. The fact that the movie isn’t even done released yet and they’re already selling merchandise doesn’t bode well either. It’ll be a shame if it sucks because the original was so good, but since I haven’t really liked any Kevin Smith stuff since the original clerks I guess I wouldn’t really be surprised.

But hey, why should any of that stop me from giving them free publicity… :P

actually, the movie is done- It opens on Friday… I’ll let you know what I think. I think it’ll be funny like the Clerks Cartoon was, rather than the first movie. If you’ve never seen the cartoon you should seek it out.

agreed. it smacks of selling out. however, AO Scott’s review in the NY Times leads the reader to believe it has worth, although he may simply be avoiding that topic. in addition, his points about the aging slacker mindset are worthwhile, it seems to me:

value added from the ny times: Rosario Dawson does Comic-Con:

I imagine I will watch it, but I don’t think it will ever be anything near the original was. And I don’t trust movie reviewers. Enjoyment of a movie is so subjective there’s no point in me bothering with most of the reviewers who have nothing in common with me.

I will wait for word from you people back home and judge based on that whether it’s worth seeing. Not like it’s gonna be in theatres here anyway. Shit, Xmen and Superman still haven’t been released here…

Looks like the times has finally wised up to bugmenot, so I can’t get at the articles until I get around to creating another account I will forget about within a week…
