So I (this is still about you though, not me, in case you were wondering) was meandering through the internet when I stumbled on this link to a 1982 Usenet post about the movie that would become Star Wars: Return of the Jedi- (OR RotJ for you FWNTMAFE)

Star Wars III should be Star Wars VI

I found it kinda amusing and decided to check out the group that it was posted to, net.movies - you can see it lasted several years and was devoted to movie reviews and discussions, and in true internet fashion, most of the movie discussed are Sci-Fi. Check out May/June 1983 for RotJ posts, and then start checking the original release dates for you favorite 80s movies… I think I saw Conan in there, as well as a crapload of Star Trek II nonsense.
