It seems someone else has updated/rewritten the plugin, so you might want to give their version a try. I've never used it, so I can't speak to how well it works, but I'd imagine better than the version here =)

The plugin is horribly outdated. I haven't used it since wordpress 2.2, so I don't even have a clue what has changed in the WP core since then that would require tweaking of the plugin, but since there have been a few major changes since then, including the new admin interface, I'd imagine the plugin probably needs to be rewritten.

I installed this in wp v 2.6, but when I activated the plugin I got this error message:

Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when in safe_mode or an open_basedir is set in /home/alist/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-amazon.php on line 73

Could you let me know if this is a problem with my server? If not, any fix?

Yeah, that was kind of intentionally lost. It was causing problems on some installs for some reason (most likely a conflict with another plugin or something) so until I have a few minutes to figure out what it was I left it out. Hopefully have some actual free time this month (famous last words).

You lost the Neetij fix in 1.2....but the concept was correct. I just manually made the same change to the 1.1 copy.

Ciao!

This isn't a plugin I am actively developing or anything as I don't have the time at the moment (I haven't even updated this site for 3 months...) but if I understand correctly you just need a version with a different name so that the wp-plugin tracker will stop trying to get you to download a new version?

I'm not familiar with the tracker plugin or how it works/where it gets it's update info, but if it is something based just on the name I changed the name in the plugin in the version linked below.
<a href="http://www.ttancm.com/mycrap/wpamazonttb12.zip" rel="nofollow">

There is still some php code in the plugin itself which searches for a new version at Rich Manalang's site, but I don't have the time to edit that out right now, so if that is what's causing the problem, I'm afraid I can't help (for the moment at least).

Hello!

Can you change the name of your version of the plugin? I'd rather use yours (for the moment) than the other one and the two having the same name is giving the codex fits.

Specifically, I use wp-plugin-tracker and it shows your plugin not being the latest.

Thanks.

Hmm, must have screwed something up when I added Neetij's fix...

I'll try and take a peak at it in the next day or so (Japan time), if it's not usable until then the link for the old version (have to save the post once before the amazon link shows up version) is:

I'll update the download for people who don't want to get any php on their hands.

Cheers!
