One Night R&R – Japanese Comedy

This is a clip from a Japanese comedy program called one night R&R. I only actually find this show to be occasionally funny. Whenever they try to do anything other than slapstick comedy I don’t find it very interesting, but watching comedians in pain, comedy gold.

This is a particularly bizarre clip. Some of the regulars and guests are dressed up as characters they sometimes play in skits on the show, although there’s no real “plot” as such to the skit in this clip.

Essentially they are all one side of a pool and need to use a trapeeze to leap onto a trampoline and climb a wall on the other side.

Oh yeah, and the pool is filled with boiling water. The white stuff they jump into afterwards is ice, to cool off. As more and more of them fail to make it across they decide that if they have to suffer they may as well make their co-stars suffer as well and so set out to make them fail by other inventing ever more difficult ways for them to try and cross, which the co-star is obligated to accept in order to “stay in character” (nevermind that they laugh and cry out of character all the time), or else they just push them in.

Anyway it’s worth a laugh so give it a look.
