Star Wars: Force Unleashed

I wrote a while ago and posted a video of a new Star Wars game in the works and it looks like they have finally released some concrete info about it.

Star Wars®: The Force Unleashed™ – The Next Great Chapter of the Star Wars Saga
The Star Wars saga continues this November in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which casts videogame players as Darth Vader’s “Secret Apprentice” and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi – and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

And here’s a video about the “Digital Molecular Matter” physics system, which looks like fun:

And one with some more on their “Euphoria” AI engine which was also mentioned for the recently announced Indiana Jones game:

And a ton of other vids available on YouTube

Here’s the website with artwork and developer diaries available:

The game looks great, and I’m really excited for it. Only one thing worries me, on the website it says

Next-Generation Consoles
(LucasArts)

PlayStation 2, PSP
(Krome Studios)

Nintendo DS
(n-Space, Inc.)

And I don’t know about you, but I don’t see any mention of PC in there…

This wonderful trend of no one making their games for PC anymore is irritating. I’m begging you Lucas Arts, don’t make me have to stop buying your company’s products like I’ve had to do with several other manufacturer’s of my favorite games (Hi there Activision with your console only Call of Duty sequel, hi there Bungie with console and Vista only Halo 2 and weak excuses for why it won’t be on XP).

It’s really irritating when a lot of these games started out on PC and achieved the level of popularity they have on PC and yet these companies have no problem abandoning those of us who play almost exclusively on a PC.

I don’t want a $600 Playstation 3 that will be used for nothing but the occasional $80 a pop game. I don’t want an X-Box 360, because I hate playing most types of games with a gamepad (although between the two the 360 is a much more likely purchase for me, I can’t play FPS with a game pad, I LIKE my keyboard and mouse).

I’m begging you Lucas Arts, please keep releasing games for the PC.
